Train Equus - Livery

DIRECTIONS TO TRAIN EQUUS

We offer a wide range of livery options tailored to your horses specific needs.
  • Full livery
  • Training livery
  • Holiday livery
  • Retirement livery
  • Short term respite care and rehabilitation.
Yard owner lives on site. Do call to arrange a visit, we are always happy to show guests around.

Our preferred choice is that your horse or pony lives out all year round on our well managed grass which is a horse appropriate mixed sward.
Horses come in to the stable yard for exercise, grooming, handling. This regime keeps our horses moving and relaxing whilst staying fit.
In the winter we feed out ad lib hay, with a last feed at 11pm (plus 2am if snow is forecast or lying), in summer we offer managed grazing for those prone to weight gain. We have individual paddocks and group fields all within sight of each other so everyone feels part of the larger herd. It is a flexible, horse based system that has worked well for over ten years. Each owner has their own routine supported within the wider structure.

We have a choice of four farriers, two equine dentists, two equine body workers and use a local specialist equine veterinary practice.

Our clients get preferential places on Train Equus clinics organised at the yard as well as benefitting from the wide range of outside practitioners we welcome here.

We have a 40 x 30m outdoor school with covered viewing gallery, round pen and grass based training pen, agility obstacles plus grass and woodland riding tracks around our 50 acre site. All post and rail fenced paddocks have access to large field shelters, we have a main yard comprising 6 loose boxes, a secure tack room and lecture room. Our land has easy access to off road riding, direct access to superb bridle ways, plus the use of all weather and grass gallops by arrangement.
